Outpatient And Intensive Outpatient Programs

What are Outpatient Services?

Initially outpatient services provide evaluations to determine the level of care someone may need. Counselors will help facilitate referrals to detoxification or inpatient/residential services when necessary

Gaudenzia Erie, Inc. has a holistic approach to treatment. In all levels of care, individual treatment plans will be developed to identify the unique needs of the person and plan for necessary change. Communications skills and improving interpersonal relations is paramount. Also during this time, it is necessary to develop a healthy support system in the Community.

What types of services are offered in this program?

Traditionally, Outpatient Services consist of one individual session and group per week. Services are offered to both adolescents and adults.

Some people may need help more frequently and participate in Intensive Outpatient Services. This consists of three groups and one individual session per week.

When are services offered?

Group and individual sessions are conveniently offered during day and evening hours to help accommodate work and family schedules.

What about my family?

Gaudenzia is committed to helping family members and significant others heal and begin their own recovery process. Family members are strongly encouraged to attend family sessions.

Are there separate groups for men and women?

Yes. There are separate groups for men and women to safely address sensitive gender needs and concerns. In Erie, women can elect to attend outpatient services or intensive outpatient services located at Community House

Are there other services?

Yes. Other services in Erie County include: Confidential testing and counseling for HIV/AIDS; drug/alcohol evaluation; detoxification; residential placement; and psychiatric/psychological referrals. Transportation and childcare are provided to Community House outpatient clients enrolled in our Babies and Children First Program.

What about payment?

There are a variety of options available depending on needed service: private insurance(s), Medical Assistance / Managed Care, sliding fee scale, contracts with county department of drug and alcohol services, and contracts through probation and parole.

How do I get started?

Contact the Erie Outpatient Clinic. You will need to have a few minutes available so that we can ask questions to complete a referral sheet. Please have your insurance information available. At the end of the call, you will be given an appointment.
